Symptoms

In Browser View users cannot expand Tasklists, Tasks, Documents or Favorites. Message 'Loading...' is displayed.

Cause

This issue occurs only when users connect to HFM via Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server used as firewall or proxy server.

ISA HTTP filter 'Verify Normalization' blocks HFM requests encoded in URL.
When users click on different objects in HFM, web client sends back to the web server a request as URL containing string of characters including percentage sign (%) followed by a number.
These requests are blocked by ISA HTTP filter if normalization verification is enabled.


Solution

In Microsoft ISA Server Management disable "Verify Normalization" option in HTTP filter:

1. Open Microsoft ISA Server Management, expand the ISA Server computer node, and click Firewall Policy.
2. In the details pane, right-click the rule applied to scenario and select Configure HTTP.
3. From the configure HTTP Policy for rule window, select General tab.
4. Untick the option "Verify Normalization" option.
5. Click on Apply and OK.
6. Then click on Apply from main window.

After applying changes restart of IIS or HFM is not required.
