FDM Adapter Configuration Error on 64 Bit Operating System

 Modified 19-APR-2010

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: to - Release: 11.1 to 11.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When attempting to configure the FM11x-G5-C adapter on the FDM application server in the environment, the error message

"One of the specified object cannot be found (Exception from HRESULT : 0x80110809)(-2146367479)"

is returned.

When installing FDM on a 64 bit version of Windows there are a few required components for the software to function properly:

a) The 32 bit version of the Oracle Provider must be installed on the server
b) The 32 bit version of Microsoft .NET 2.0 must be installed on the server
c) IIS must be running in 32 bit mode to allow for FDM to function as it is a 32 bit application.
d) The HFM Adapters must be registered on the server using the 64 bit version of the .NET Framework.

When choosing File/Register Adapter from within the FDM workbench client, the 32 bit version of the .NET Framework is used to register the adapter components, however when this is used, the adapter does not register properly.

When registering the adapter on a 64 bit version of windows, the adapter must be manually registered using the "regsvcs.exe" command within the Framework64 directory on the application server.

A) Start > Run > CMD
B) CD C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727
C) Regsvcs "E:\hyperion\products\financialdataquality\sharedcomponents\adaptercomponents\fdmfm11xg5c\fdmfm11xg5c.dll"
D) Login to the FDM application using the workbench client as a power user
E) Expand Target System adapters and right-click on the FM11x-G5-C adapter and choose "Configure"
F) Enter the FDM Service account id/pwd/domain and click OK. The configuration screen disappears without error, successfully setting the identity of the com+ application.
