When loading an Excel Map Loader template, FDM hangs.
Selecting Activities/Maps. Within the mapping table, the end user is selecting the "Upload File" tab and then browsing for the Excel Based Map Loader Template. The "Processing Please Wait" screen is returned, and the map loader never completes.
Smart View Client enabled on FDM App Server
In order for FDM to load an Excel based Map Loader template, Microsoft Excel is launched via DCOM on the FDM Application server and then used to process the map loader template and load the information into the FDM Database.
When the Smart View Client is installed and turned on within the add-ins in Microsoft Excel on the server, it causes Excel to hang when called via DCOM.
Disable Smart View Add-In or UN-install Smart View Client on Server
1) Open Microsoft Excel on the FDM Application Server
2) Choose Tools/Add-Ins
3) Uncheck the box next to "Hyperion Smart View"
4) Click OK
1) Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
2) Locate the Smart View Client item in the list of programs
3) Click Remove to UN-install the product.
Either solution will resolve the issue.
