Issue Symptoms

When users try logging into Smart View Planning and selecting Ad-Hoc Analysis the session hangs and crashes. In addition, other users cannot log in and there is either a "Failure" or "Warning" notification within the WebLogic for the APS Module.

Cause

A metadata change had been made but was not correctly applied.

For example, a new parent was deployed, but the movement of subsequent account members to it wasn’t. The hierarchy is fine in EPMA, but doesn’t fully deploy to Planning, causing an orphaned Dynamic Calc parent.

Solution

Trace back and review recent metadata changes and correct as necessary.
